Celebrating a decade of caring with Third Hand Care

Third hand care

Third Hand Care is excited to celebrate its tenth anniversary in August. The Farnham-based home care agency has been providing compassionate, professional and reliable home care services for older and vulnerable people in Surrey and Hampshire since 2014.

The home care agency was founded by Rodgers Phiri in 2014 to meet growing demand in the South East of England for high-quality, personalised home care support services for people aged 18 years and over. Today, the agency employs around 100 carers and staff who support older and vulnerable people in their own homes on a long- or short-term, basis as required. All homecare services are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Services have grown over the past decade to include domiciliary care built around people’s existing routines, support when leaving hospital and in the early days following an operation or accident and live-in care to provide support and assistance whenever it is needed. Other services cover complex care and end-of-life home nursing, wellbeing checks, supported living assistance and short-term respite care to give family members and other regular carers a break.

Third Hand Care can also support people living at home with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, spinal-cord injury, acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s, cancer, heart disease and stroke, MS, muscular dystrophy and other serious medical conditions. Carers are fully screened and interviewed, with references checked and mandatory training provided. These stringent quality measures have played a large part in ensuring that Third Hand Care has established a firm reputation for excellence and compassionate, people-led care over the decade it has been in operation.

Rodgers Phiri at Third Hand Care says of the tenth-anniversary milestone: “We are proud and delighted to celebrate ten years since we launched Third Hand Care this August. Back in 2014, we started with a small team of committed, knowledgeable carers and we have built on this foundation by welcoming many more skilled and dedicated team members from across Surrey and Hampshire over the years.

“We would like to thank all of our supporters – especially our homecare clients and their families who have placed their trust in us at a vulnerable time in their lives. We are very grateful and look forward to another successful decade to come!”
